We want everyone to be able to enjoy the benefits of dance and movement, which is why we’ve made Company D Dance Academy the focus of today’s Local Spotlight. Keep reading the sections below to learn more about this local studio!

How it all Began

Company D Dance Academy was established back in 2002, from the lifelong dream of a husband-and-wife team. Today, Company D has grown into a full-fledged studio, complete with a team of dedicated and trained instructors.

Owner Danice James strives to make Company D a place where both dancers and their families can feel comfortable and find enjoyment through their various programs. She always makes sure her team is up to date on the latest techniques and choreography so her students can receive the best instruction possible.

Choose from Eight Different Programs

Company D Dance Academy offers classes in eight different styles of dance, with opportunities for toddlers, children, and teens to join in on the fun. Pick from classes including:

Ballet	Hip Hop
Tap	Pointe
Jazz	Lyrical
Clogging	Drill Team

As mentioned earlier, many of these classes offer instruction for all ages. Ballet, for example, can begin at age three, while Hip Hop starts for those in second grade. Their more advanced classes—lyrical and pointe—begin in sixth grade, and require students to also be enrolled in ballet, while pointe also requires instructor approval.

James Hall Event Center

Part of the Company D facilities is the James Hall Event Center. This large room is used for dance performances and recitals but can also be rented out for your own events.

The 60 x 60 space is the ideal location for bridal and baby showers, corporate events, and other small functions. A kitchenette is located on the premises as well. Rental of the James Hall Event Center includes tables and chairs; eighteen 5-inch round tables, six 6-inch rectangle tables, and 110 black folding chairs. Maximum guest capacity is 175 guests.
