Ford F-150 Maintenance Schedule

2021 Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 is built to last. With a durable drivetrain and a solid suspension, it’s designed to be dependable. While it’s a tough truck, keeping up with your routine maintenance is the best way to make sure it stays on the road for a long time.

To help drivers in Port Arthur and Nederland, TX, learn more about how to take care of their pickup, Energy Country Ford decided to take a closer look at the Ford F-150 maintenance schedule.

Every 10,000 Miles

Bringing your truck in for maintenance every 10,000 miles can keep everything in good condition. During these regular maintenance visits, your F-150 will get a multi-point inspection. That involves checking both the interior and exterior for wear and tear, plus looking over a few important systems.

Technicians will use their trained eyes to look at the transmission fluid levels and brake fluid. To make sure the brakes are primed and ready for another 10,000 miles, they’ll replace your brake pads, too. Plus, whenever you come in for maintenance, your truck will get both an oil change and a new oil filter.

While they’re looking at your wheels, they’ll inspect the tire tread, too. If your tires look like they need to be replaced, you’ll need a new set of tires. Otherwise, they’ll rotate your tires for you.

Some of the other systems they’ll inspect include the engine cooling system hoses, the exhaust system, ball joints, the suspension, tire-rod ends, and the driveshaft.

Every 20,000 Miles

The next time you come in for maintenance, your F-150 will receive another oil change and inspection. That way, all your fluids will be filled, and parts will be in good condition. This time around, technicians will also replace your cabin air filter.

Every 30,000 Miles

Air FilterAt 30,000 miles you’ll get all the same work done, plus get a new engine air filter. That way, your powertrain can bring in clean air and give you peak performance. To maximize your fuel economy, both the engine-mounted and frame-mounted fuel filters will need to be replaced, too.

Every 100,000 Miles

If you’ve been bringing your Ford F-150 in every 10,000 miles, you should have no problem hitting 100,000. Once you cross the century mark, you’ll get all the same maintenance that got you here, plus some other services that’ll help you put a lot more miles on the odometer. First, technicians will replace your spark plugs. Next, they’ll inspect the accessory drive belts.

Every 150,000 Miles

Transmission OilAt 150,000 miles, it’ll be time to replace your automatic transmission fluid and the transmission filter. You’ll also need new axle fluid and transfer case fluid. Once again, the accessory drive belts will need to be inspected, along with the timing belt and fuel pump belt.

Every 200,000 Miles

When your F-150 hits 200,000 miles, you’ll get new spark plugs again, plus a technician will give you new coolant.
