Which Truck Has Better Towing Capacity?
The Ford F-350 has a stronger towing capacity than the Ford F-250. The F-250 offers a conventional towing capacity of 20,000 pounds when properly equipped. If you need extra muscle, its gooseneck towing capacity stretches to 22,800 pounds when properly configured.
The Ford F-350 can tow more. Its conventional towing capacity reaches 21,200 pounds when properly set up. When you need to utilize gooseneck towing, you can hook up a trailer to pull up to 35,750 pounds when properly equipped.
So, what does this mean for you? Both can tow boats and campers, but the F-350 is a co-worker that provides extra strength around the job site. It’s the first of a couple ways that the F-350 supplies more power.
You can tow safely in both trucks. They can both be equipped with the available Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, which provides a broad range of views:
- 180-/360-Degree Cameras
- Rear center high-mounted stop lamp camera
- Trailer Reverse Guidance
These cameras can help you hitch your trailer easier. You can also use the different angles to maneuver your trailer through narrow spaces and on uneven surfaces.
Does the F-250 or F-350 Have a Bigger Payload?
Another way the F-350 provides power is its payload. The F-350 has a heftier payload than the F-250.
Pound-for-pound, however, both trucks hold up their end of the bargain. They can handle bricks, wood, and ATVs. The F-250 provides a payload of up to 4,260 pounds when properly equipped. If you need more muscle, the F-350’s bed has a payload of up to 7,850 pounds when properly configured.
Both frames are built for the long haul, too. Each is constructed with high-strength steel. Available with either a 6.75-foot or 8-foot cargo box, their aluminum alloy bodies are dent-and-ding resistant and not subject to rust.
You can also add available features, like:
- Extended running boards
- Integrated tailgate step
- Stowable Loading Ramps
The available extended running boards and integrated tailgate step provide easier access to the truck’s bed. To help you load each truck faster, the available Stowable Loading Ramps reduce the amount of work you need to do to load cargo.
Which Cab Configurations are Available?
If you need more power around the jobsite, the F-350 may be the vehicle you desire. What if you don’t need the extra boost in payload and towing capacity?
Both trucks are available in three cabin configurations that can transform into a mobile office as you hop between job sites:
- Regular Cab
- SuperCab
- Crew Cab
The Regular Cab can fit three passengers. The SuperCab and Crew Cab fit up to six passengers inside their cabins. Available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability lets you join a video conference to provide updates on the project.
The trims of each truck also share available features, like a B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen®. The 10-speaker system makes it easier to relax with your favorite music on your lunch break.
