Ford F-150 vs Tesla Cybertruck

Ford F-150 vs Tesla Cybertruck

Trucks are a terrific option for drivers, families, and businesses in Port Arthur, Nederland, and Lake Charles. So, which type of truck’s right for you? Are you interested in something timeless or futuristic? The team at Town and Country Ford put together this Ford F-150 vs. Tesla Cybertruck comparison to help you decide.

Design

The Ford F-150 is what you imagine when you picture a truck. Whether you’re interested in the Regular Cab, SuperCab, or SuperCrew, it features a classic design that’s both traditional and stylish. It’s available in lots of colors and offers some great design options.

For example, the grille offers either a bold black mesh design or chrome horizontal bars. Both options include the iconic Ford logo in the center. If you’re looking for luxury in a truck, you can add chrome side mirrors, door handles, and bumpers to the mix, too.

There are also three truck beds to choose from. With a 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, and 8-foot truck bed, you’ll get to enjoy the truck that’s best suited for your needs.

On the other hand, the Tesla Cybertruck looks nothing like a traditional pickup.  It more closely resembles something straight out of science fiction. It would feel right at home in a 1970s film about the future or an old video game.

There aren’t a lot of options to personalize the exterior of the Cybertruck, either. In addition to looking like a silver stealth fighter, it only offers one truck bed. Without a front grille, you can’t personalize your first impression. Plus, there don’t seem to be any side mirrors at all.

Interior

There are just as many options inside the F-150 as on its exterior. Depending on which cab size you’re interested in, it can carry between three and six passengers. While it’s a rugged pickup, it can also clean up nicely and give you a comfortable ride. You can even make it a luxury pickup with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear shift knob, and center console.

The dashboard’s well designed and offers lots of technology. There are clearly defined climate controls, a user-friendly infotainment system, and a productivity screen in the instrument cluster. These three stations make it easy to get directions, see information about your drive, and set the perfect atmosphere for the miles ahead.

The Tesla Cybertruck has a very bare bones cabin. While there’s standard seating for six people, the dashboard leaves a lot to be desired. There’s no instrument cluster and no center console controls. It just looks like a flat slab with a large touchscreen in the middle.

While it’s sure to offer amenities, a leather-wrapped steering wheel won’t be one of them. That’s because, rather than having a steering wheel, it features a pair of handles that resemble controls you’d find on an arcade game.

Performance

Aside from their vastly different appearance, the main difference between the Ford F-150 and the Tesla Cybertruck is that one runs on gas, while the other is 100% electric. The Tesla is available with one, two, or three electric motors. The Ford offers six capable powertrains, including a turbo diesel engine and a high-output option that offers best-in-class horsepower and torque.

Both trucks are capable of towing a larger trailer or carrying a big payload. However, the F-150 doesn’t need multiple engines to carry your cargo. For the Tesla to haul as much, you’ll need to add more motors.
