Ford Bronco Sport MPG
The Ford Bronco Sport is designed to go anywhere and everywhere. It’s a tough, rugged SUV that you can rely on for rough weather and off-roading. When heading off the beaten path, though, you won’t want to worry about when you’ll have to stop and fill up. So, how efficient is this versatile SUV?
Town and Country Ford finds out. We took a closer look at the Ford Bronco Sport MPG numbers, so drivers in Port Arthur and Nederland, TX, and Lake Charles, LA, will know what it’s capable of.
Ford Bronco Sport Fuel Economy
The Ford Bronco Sport can get up to an EPA-estimated 25 city/28 highway MPG. With that kind of range, you’ll never have to cut your adventures short to go get gas. To deliver that efficient performance, the Bronco Sport runs on a 1.5L EcoBoost® I-3 engine. It’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
If you’re interested in a little more power, the Bronco Sport has you covered there, too. The available 2.0L EcoBoost® I-4 offers more horsepower, while still keeping things efficient. It can get up to an EPA-estimated 21 city/26 highway MPG. This powertrain is paired with an 8-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission that offers more control with paddle shifters.
Bronco Sport Specs
In addition to providing good fuel economy, the Ford Bronco Sport is also prepared to power through the elements and carry some extra cargo. The 1.5L EcoBoost® base engine gets up to 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. This allows you to tow up to 2,000 pounds.
With its extra size and cylinder, the available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine can haul an even heavier trailer. It offers up to 250 horsepower, 277 lb-ft of torque, and has a towing capacity of 2,200 pounds.
Both powertrains run on a 4x4 system and feature a 16-gallon gas tank. They also sit inside an aerodynamic frame. The Bronco Sport measures 172.7 inches long and 82.2 inches wide. Its high ground clearance both improves airflow and allows you to get over anything that stands in your way.
Efficient Features
On top of its efficient powertrains, the Ford Bronco Sport offers some features that’ll help you maximize your fuel economy. For example, Auto Start-Stop technology saves gas by shutting the engine off when you come to a complete stop. It’s standard on both engines.
You’ll also have cruise control to help you when you’re on the highway. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go is also available. It can maintain a consistent speed, but also watches the road ahead and can engage the brakes if traffic slows down.
One of the things that makes the Bronco Sport so versatile is its Terrain Management System™. It offers seven selectable G.O.A.T. Modes™ (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) to help you adapt to your current driving conditions. While modes like Sand, Mud/Ruts, and Rock Crawl will help with off-roading, ECO mode will improve your fuel economy.
