Ford Bronco MPG

Ford Bronco Vehicle Line Up

Whether you’re hitting the trails, on your way to the Gulf Coast, or just running errands around town, it’s important to have good fuel economy. After all, it makes everything easier by cutting back on the number of pitstops you’ll have to make along the way.

The Ford Bronco is a versatile SUV that’s great for going off the beaten path, carrying all your bags, and towing some extra cargo. While it’s a dependable choice in just about any situation, is it an efficient SUV?

Town and Country Ford finds out. To show drivers and adventurers in Port Arthur and Nederland, TX, and Lake Charles, LA, what it’s capable of, we took a closer look at the Ford Bronco MPG ratings.

Ford Bronco Fuel Economy

Ford Bronco First EditionThe 2021 Ford Bronco can get up to an EPA-estimates 20 city and 22 highway MPG. With that kind of gas mileage, you won’t have to call it an early day on the trails. You’ll also be able to get down to the Gulf faster and enjoy a more convenient commute.

That kind of performance comes from the Bronco’s 2.3L EcoBoost® engine and standard 7-speed manual transmission to give you total control of your drive. If you’d like to enjoy a smooth ride though, you can opt for the quick-shifting 10-speed SelectShift® automatic instead.

The Bronco also offers a 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 that delivers more power. It makes the 10-speed automatic standard, while also living up to its name with an EPA-estimated 18 city and 20 highway MPG.

Both powertrains are designed to run smoothly with Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) and maximize your performance with Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI).

Capable & Aerodynamic Design

The Ford Bronco is available with two doors or four. No matter which style you’re interested in, you can count on this SUV to get up and over anything that stands in your way. With the proper suspension, both models can hit the trails with a ground clearance of over 11 inches. Not only does its high ground clearance help with tough terrain, but it improves your airflow, too.

They also feature a large grille and a lightweight design. The 2-door model comes in at 4,319 pounds and runs on a 16.9-gallon gas tank. The 4-door Bronco carries up to 20.8 gallons of gas but doesn’t weigh much more at 4,499 pounds.

Whether you’re drawn to the 2.3L EcoBoost® base engine or the 2.7L EcoBoost® V6, you can count on your Ford Bronco to haul some extra cargo for you. Both engines can tow up to 3,500 pounds. With that type of trailering, it’s easy to hitch a utility trailer, fishing boat, or couple of recreational vehicles to your SUV.

To haul that heavy gear and give you that good fuel economy, these engines pack a lot of power. The base engine gets up to 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, while the available V6 can produce up to 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
