Interior Design & Amenities
The Ford Explorer offers a choice between a second-row bench seat and a pair of captain’s chairs. While the chairs leave you with seating for six people, they also feature a convenient center aisle. Cloth seats come standard, but leather seats are available as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather trim on the door panels and dashboard.For added comfort, power-adjustable front seats are available for both the driver and front passenger. There’s also a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row seats. To brighten things up inside, a large twin-panel moonroof is also available.
Infotainment System
The SYNC® 3 infotainment system comes with a standard 8-inch touchscreen, but a 10.1-inch is also available. With the larger screen, it’ll look like there’s a tablet attached to your dashboard.
Both systems feature a Voice-Activated Navigation System with maps and pinch-to-zoom capability. It’s also compatible with smartphones. You can access your favorite apps through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ as well as stream music and make hands-free calls via Bluetooth®.
There’s also lots of technology available for the instrument cluster. The available 12.3-inch Digital Productivity Screen is fully customizable. It gives you a stylish space to view your speed, MPG, what song is playing, and the driving mode that you’ve selected.
